Many believe that the village near Sarigerme Beach is the town of Sarigerme, but it is not Sarigerme. The village encountered when one comes in from the road between Ortaca and Dalaman is actually called Osmaniye. There is much talk of Sarigerme as though it was a town or village, but Sarigerme is the name of the beach just outside of Osmaniye. The first large tourism projects in the area were large foreign owned all-inclusive resorts.
By their very nature these all-inclusive tourist resorts want to keep their guests at there own restaurants, bars and entertainment venues and away from other local businesses. This is not just the case in Sarigerme/Osmaniye, but in most areas where there are groups of all-inclusive tourist resorts. In as much as this may be the case it is well recommended that tourists staying at an all-inclusive make a point of visiting the local restaurants, bars and shops to show support to the local Turkish community. Local businesses like Laz Market Bakal, Panda Tour Operators, the Paradise Restaurant and if you are not interested in all-inclusive accommodation check with the smaller local hotels such as Sevgi Hotel, Han Hotel or Cardinal Hotel.
